Master Magnetics Flexible Brochure
To help advertise our flexible product at Master Magnetics Inc, I was tasked with redesigning our promotional material for the various items we had in stock. This material has been distributed at trade shows, sent through email, and used internally to promote sales.
Software Used:
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe InDesign

Process
B2B marketing can present a myriad of design challenges for creatives. Throughout my time working at MMI, I was tasked with making plain and generic products look desirable, even to the companies that would distribute for us. Flexible material was no exception to the rule, and I was determined to design a layout that would be irresistible to any audience.
It started with figuring out how to best organize the text to be easily digestible for potential consumers. This meant turning a single-sided sheet of 8.5”x11” into a bi-fold brochure. Next, I had to source my images. The best layout designs use the text to engage with the design elements. I decided that for the title page, I was going to wrap the key text around the cardboard roll in the front image. I used Adobe Illustrator to achieve the shape of the text, and I decided to engage the text further by forming it into an extrusion of the roll itself, preserving all textures and details. For this, I used Photoshop to overlap several blending layers on top of one another to achieve a three-dimensional effect. Once edited to my standards, I placed all the images together into an InDesign document using a dark-mode contrast theme.
Takeaways
This project was not meant to be over-engineered the way it was, but I was presented with more creative freedom, and I chose to take it. It was fulfilling to meet a new challenge with fun and interesting ideas. This project also highlighted the value of researching new techniques for a more effective design.
